Description

A classic, elegant blanket made from 100% finest lambswool in the famous Blackwatch tartan. Woven in a traditional mill over 100 years old, based directly in the Scottish Borders region!

Woven from 100% soft and cuddly lambswool and carefully finished. Classic fringed edge. Perfect for picnics or as a wonderfully warm accessory for cosy hours at home. This blanket lasts a lifetime and becomes a loyal, unmistakable companion.

Interesting facts about the Blackwatch tartan: around 1725, during the reign of King George I, a patrol ("watch") made up of six clans was recruited in the Scottish Highlands. This patrol was given the tartan known today as Black Watch, so that they could be easily recognised. The uniform consisted of a 12-yard length of cloth wrapped around the waist, completed with a bright red jacket and the bonnet.

The Black Watch regiment played a role far beyond the Scottish Highlands. It became a permanent part of the British Army and was regularly deployed until 2007.

"Made for you". We would be happy to weave a blanket in a pattern you design yourself. Please contact us to discuss the details.
