About Us

House of Scotland is the place to go for those who refuse to compromise on quality, style, or function. Since 1987, we have stood for a diverse selection of high-quality and unique tweeds and wool knitwear from Scotland, Great Britain, Ireland, and New Zealand.

Perhaps you know us from Vienna, where we have been active since 1987, or you may have heard that since 2025 we can also be found in Zurich or via mail order in Switzerland.

House of Scotland is closely linked to its founder , Peter Bichler , who comes from a family of textile entrepreneurs in St. Pölten that has been in business for generations. His love for and deep personal connection to Scotland is what led him to create House of Scotland.

Peter Bichler also has a great passion for historical textiles and textile art, which Ines Bogensperger shares. Her background is in textile archaeology and textile history. As a long-time employee, Ines is now increasingly able to take the lead and share her knowledge and passion with interested parties.

The company is managed by Aurelius Noell , who oversees House of Scotland as Managing Director. Thanks to his affinity for Anglo-Saxon culture, we maintain close personal contact with our partners, enabling us to continually introduce new tweeds and knitwear exclusively for Zurich and Switzerland.

We would also like to mention our loyal employees who accompany us through the season with great enthusiasm. In particular, Shobita Kumar, who manages the store in Zurich.
