Fine lambswool ponchos

Women's Wool Ponchos – Wool Capes from Scotland

Our ponchos are made in Scotland by our kilt maker from 100% fine lambswool. The soft wool cape in classic tartan keeps you warm on cool autumn and winter days, and thanks to its wide neckline it can even be worn over a coat.

Wear the poncho with the fringes at the back or stylishly draped to one side. One size fits all. Choose from the tartans Scotland Forever, Bannokbane Silver and Camel Thomson.

  • 100% fine lambswool
  • made in Scotland
  • one size, 180 × 70 cm, sewn together
  • twisted fringes at both ends

Pairs well with our lambswool tartan stoles and wool blankets & throws. We are also happy to show you the ponchos in our shop at Zwingliplatz 3 in Zurich.

Poncho in the tartan of your choice

Would you like your poncho in your clan tartan or another tartan? Choose from our wide selection of tartan fabrics – our kilt maker in Scotland will make your poncho individually for you. Individually made ponchos take four to six weeks. A poncho in your own clan tartan also makes a special gift, for example for Christmas – please order in good time.

Frequently asked questions about our wool ponchos

What is a poncho?

A poncho is a sleeveless overgarment with a neck opening that you simply slip over your head. Our ponchos are sewn from fine tartan lambswool and drape softly over the shoulders and arms.

How do you wear a poncho?

Wear the poncho with the fringes at the back or stylishly to one side, so that one point falls at the front. Worn open it looks relaxed; with a slim belt at the waist it looks more elegant.

What do you wear under a poncho?

A poncho looks best over slim silhouettes: for example a roll-neck jumper or a blouse, with slim trousers or jeans and boots.

Can I wear the poncho over a winter coat?

Yes. Thanks to its wide neckline the poncho can also be worn over a coat, adding an extra warm layer on cold winter days.

What is the difference between a poncho, a cape and a stole?

Ponchos and capes are slipped over the head or shoulders and stay in place without holding them. A stole is an open, wide wrap that you drape over your shoulders or tie as a scarf. Our tartan stoles are available in many more tartans.

Which size do I need?

Our ponchos are one size and fit all clothing sizes. They measure 180 × 70 cm, sewn together.

How do I care for my wool poncho?

Airing is usually enough, as wool is largely self-cleaning. If needed, wash the poncho by hand or on a wool cycle with wool detergent and dry it flat.
