Woven in the British Isles from the finest cashmere, this scarf is a truly exceptional piece. The outstanding quality of the wool, the unique luster of the colors, and the intricate pattern give this scarf a luxurious appearance. This stylish accessory will feel wonderfully warm and cozy against your skin.

  • 100% finest cashmere
  • The hand-cut hem with twisted tassels gives the stole a traditional finish.
  • Dimensions are extra long and extra wide: W. 70 cm; L. 190 cm (excluding fringe)
  • Fringe: approx. 8 cm
  • Made in UK
  • Classic tartan

Why did we choose cashmere? At the House of Scotland, everything revolves around wool. Cashmere has the advantage of being a very soft and lightweight fiber, making it ideal for wearing directly against the skin. The workshop from which we source our exclusive scarves uses a globally unique process called the Ripple Effect.

Dried thistle heads are traditionally arranged in rows on two metal poles around a large, rotating drum.

The cashmere fabric is immersed in water sourced directly from the Pennine Hills. This water is perfectly suited to the process, as it has the optimal alkalinity to achieve the characteristic soft surface. The fabric is then wrapped around a large rotating drum, which, as it turns, wets and supples the teasels, while their delicate hooks gently brush over the cashmere.

The thistle brushes gently brush the felted cashmere, carefully coaxing out the fibers. The key is achieving the perfect "snap" at precisely the right moment. The teasel hooks break off when the timing is right. This delicate balance between pressure and release creates a unique textural effect—the subtle, iridescent sheen that characterizes premium cashmere and which you'll find in this scarf.
